Science of Reading Events, Webinars and Bookstudies

The Literacy Task Force of Wisconsin Presents:

Assessment: Help! What assessment practices are SOR aligned?

Let's face it, for many of us, assessment and the assessment process can be confusing especially if we are shifting our focus and aligning our practices with the Science of Reading. If you are interested in learning more about what assessment practices are SOR aligned and what aren't or why assessment tools should have validity and reliability and what that means, then this is a good time to tune in. This talk will address early literacy and language screening and the tools you'll want in your hands so you can drive your instruction with data.

This webinar is presented by Danielle Thompson, PhD. Dr. Thompson is the founder of The Transformative Reading Teacher Group, and the current president of The Reading League Montana. She is an educational consultant, certified high performance coach, teacher of teachers, and is insatiably curious about all things that make people’s lives better. She is an inspired human and an agent of positive change working to revolutionize the way teachers think and apply their knowledge for the benefit of all children in their classrooms. She began her career as an undergraduate researcher at the University of Colorado at Boulder where she earned her bachelors and masters degrees in Speech-Language Pathology. Her first journey in becoming a teacher of teachers was as a National LETRS trainer and then she went on to obtain a Literacy Studies doctorate at MTSU.
